Commission for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Whittington Hospital, London

'Animal Magic'
was a series of original artworks commissioned by Whittington Hospital, London for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The pictures are designed to enhance the unit with a touch of humour and splash of colour, and to help make visits comfortable, enjoyable and memorable. The artwork contains scenes of fantasy that are magical in feel, where sweets grow on trees and trees are made from lollypops.

Inspired by real pets and b ased on the theme of infant and parent, the artwork celebrates the special loving bond between the two. Each case shows ‘child friendly’ creatures, a source of humour and entertainment of many young ones.

Can you spot The Whittington Cat who features on the hospital’s logo, he likes to roam around and gets everywhere. He might be brushing up against your leg! Can you imagine what the characters are like, how would you describe their personalities?
